Useful software
At work, I'm working on a laptop running linux (
kubuntu). Although I'm not entirely satisfied with linux, I have to admit that some features are really useful. Recently, I found that some free software is available, that enables these features in Windows:
-
Dragking: This little program automatically copies selected text in any application to your clipboard, and enables you to paste this piece of text using the middle mouse button. If you become used to this replacement of the crt-c ctrl-v operation, you will never want to go back!
-
Virtual Desktop Manager: This is a free Microsoft program, part of the 'Powertoys for Windows XP'. This software enable you to use up to four virtual desktops. This means that you can organize running programs in four 'separate' desktops. You can for instance open you mail in desktop one, open Excel in desktop 2 and surf the web on desktop 3. In this way, the taskbar is not flooded with running programs and everything can be nicely organized.
